Brian Hammerstein served on the board of Mutual Redevelopment Houses, where he participated in oversight related to the organization’s receipt of multi-million-dollar grants from federal, state, and city sources.
As Communications Director for the Deputy Speaker of the New York City Council, he promoted the district’s Participatory Budgeting process through which community organizations received public funding support.
He has a B.A. in English from Yale University.
